First Day of Preschool at NCCS
I must admit, I would NOT have been surprised if some tears were shed on the first day of school (by Caitlyn, of course, not by me.) Caitlyn is often weary of new situations and needs some time to get used to a routine. But her first day at NCCS went better than any of us had imagined -- she was immediately comfortable with her new teachers (whom she had met two days prior), her classroom and saw a couple of familiar faces. The ever growing number of creatures in the classroom also helped to alleviate any uneasiness -- on day 1 alone, there was a parakeet, two guinea pigs, a slew of walking stick insects, 4 frogs, and a betta fish...apparently, this number will grow as the year progresses. Caitlyn came home happy (and exhausted) after her first day and not a tear was shed. Granted, it's only a week into preschool, but she is excited to go to school everyday. And, we look forward to hearing the synopsis of her day.

Hayley loves Peekaboo
Hayley thought Dad playing peekaboo was about the funniest thing she'd ever seen! And we thought she was about the cutest.

Quick iPhone Candid
This is Hayley at around 4 1/2 months. Still no hair and no real signs of any coming in. For the most part, she is a happy and very inquisitive baby.
Also need to put down for the record that she slept for over 12 hours straight last week (6:30 pm - 7:00 am). She doesn't need to eat anymore during the night and takes 4 big bottles a day. (I only have to run the dishwasher once/day now!)

Caitlyn'isms
So cute, we just had to put them on the record.
After reading the book, Jesus Loves Me (sent by the Pearsons for Hayley's Christening):
Caitlyn: "Is Jesus a superhero or something?"

Jaety goofing around with Caitlyn: "Come on little Munchkin..."
Caitlyn: "I'm not a munchkin. I'm a donut."

Second time at Kid City
Last March, we took Caitlyn to an amazing children's museum in Middletown, CT called Kid City. She frequently asks to go back. So, as a treat for being such an awesome big sister, we planned a special day (Jaety took the day off) during the middle of the week to bring her back there. She blew through the entire museum in about 20 minutes but then we went back to some of her favorite rooms in the museum where she engaged in a lot of pretend play and dress up.

Hayley's Christening
Hayley was baptized on February 27th. It was an exciting and special day for all of us. On the other hand, Hayley seemed rather oblivious as to what was going on as she slept through the entire event. Many thanks to Godparents, Jenny and Mike, for agreeing to provide spiritual guidance to Hayley -- no pressure or anything :)

Snow Forts Galore
The crazy amount of snow we've had this winter gave Jaety and Caitlyn plenty of opportunities to build snow forts. I think Jaety had as much fun making these forts (if not more) as Caitlyn had playing in them. Seriously, one of these forts had a slide!

Early Hayley Days
We're finally getting around to posting some more early pictures of Hayley. When I look at them now, it's amazing how much she's grown in just 8 weeks. She's now 11 lbs, 22.25 inches long. Caitlyn is still infatuated with (and amazingly tolerant of) her new baby sister. Jaety and I couldn't be more proud of how she is with her.

Welcome Hayley!
Hayley Alexandra Edwards was born Tues. Jan 4 at 9:11am. Vital Stats for the scorecard: 6lb. 7oz., 18 1/2 inches. Mom and baby are doing great, and we get to welcome them home tomorrow!
Caitlyn's so excited to have a little sister. Tonight, while holding her sister in her lap, Caitlyn kissed her and told us "I love Hayley," which put huge smiles on Mom and Dad's faces.
Welcome Hayley! We're so excited to turn our party of three into a quartet!

Christmas 2010
Caitlyn's definitely got the present opening and sugar inhaling down (ate 5 peanut butter blossoms in one sitting!)Oddly enough, she was very fixated that Rudolph didn't finish the carrot that she left for him the night before. (Of course, Santa finished all of his peanut butter blossoms). All in all, Christmas was exhausting but always magical through the eyes of a 3-year old.
